Capacity Building

Helping to build the capacity of stakeholders in low-income developing countries, notably in Africa, is one of the primary reasons why ILEAP was founded. ILEAP's approach to enhancing both knowledge and skills to enable an individual or organisation to improve on what they already do and/or do something new focuses on three activities: training for policy analysis skills development, Fellowships for enhancing expertise, and workshops to respond to short-term training needs. The specific outputs are aimed primarily at strengthening the skills and knowledge of individuals while at the same time enhancing the interaction of ILEAP's network of beneficiaries, advisors, and partners. The main outcomes that ILEAP intends to influence under this work stream include the enhanced ability of beneficiaries to pursue negotiating interests, undertake policy and regulatory reform and build productive capacities.
